Staying near the hospital: a practical guide for families in North West London

Bright living room in a Regents Plaza apartment, set up for a longer stay

Nobody plans a trip around a hospital date. The stays that go well are the ones where the practical things — parking, laundry, a kitchen, a lift, someone at a desk who knows you — are settled before you arrive, so all your energy goes where it should.

Stay within walking distance, not driving distance

The single biggest difference is being able to walk back for an hour in the middle of the day. Our neighbourhood in North West London sits in the quiet residential streets a short walk from the local hospital, so a visit does not turn into two extra journeys.

Sort out parking before you travel

Street parking in this part of London is permit-controlled and genuinely difficult. Every apartment at Regents Plaza comes with a reserved space on site, which removes the daily search and the risk of a ticket on a morning when you have other things on your mind.

A kitchen matters more than you think

Two weeks of restaurant food is expensive and tiring, and it rarely suits someone recovering. A full kitchen lets you cook plain, familiar food at the hours that suit you, and a washer-dryer in the apartment means you can travel with a small bag.

Ask about a longer-stay rate

If you know you will be here for several weeks or a few months, tell us at the enquiry stage. Medium-term stays are priced differently from a weekend, and we can usually hold the same apartment for the whole period so you are not moving mid-treatment.
